Meet Micky

Micky Steinberg grew up in Miami Beach.

She understands the value of providing a strong quality of life for all residents and businesses in our community.

Elected in 2013 to the Miami Beach City Commission, Micky brought her passionate teamwork approach to City Hall and has championed various initiatives, some of which included strengthening ethics ordinances, sustainability and resiliency efforts, championing human rights legislation, finding solutions to alleviate everyday traffic congestion and supporting our local schools. Micky also championed legislation that requires new construction to be LEED GOLD certified. This ordinance won the City the 2016 APA Florida Award of Excellence in the Best Practices Category and points which helped the City receive LEED for Cities Gold certification last year. She was re-elected to the Miami Beach Commission unopposed in 2017.

Micky Steinberg has a long and impressive record of community involvement. Her strong commitment to residents included serving as a member of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority Committee, the Miami Beach Police Citizens Relations Committee as well as ample involvement with various nonprofit organizations, such as the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami. As a result of her efforts to better our community, Micky has also been recognized as a Woman of Valor by the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center.

During Micky’s time on the Commission she served as Chair of the Neighborhood and Quality of Life Committee, Chair of the Sustainability and Resiliency Committee, participated on the County’s Tourism Development Committee and was the City’s representative at the Miami-Dade League of Cities and the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). She was also a City Commission Designee of the Committee for Quality Education in Miami Beach and completed the Good Government Initiative’s Leaders of Excellence Program for elected officials in state and local government.

Micky’s professional career started in the hospitality industry where she worked to enhance the experience of residents, and visitors by focusing on first-class customer service. After several years in the hospitality business, she shifted her career to real estate. As a licensed real estate agent, she applied her extensive knowledge of our dynamic real estate market to work for her clients.

Micky’s fondest memories include the time she spent with her loving grandmother, who played a central role in her upbringing. At an early age, Micky and her sisters were taught the values of hard work and determination by her family. Micky is married to Richard Steinberg, whose family is also dedicated to public service. They are the proud parents of two amazing children.
